OUR SMARTY PANTS STAFF
Our teachers are registered with MSDE and receive more education and child related training than the MD State requires. We require that all of our teachers hold current CPR and First Aid certification. We receive at least 20 clock hours of Early Childhood Education classes (yearly). We are required to pass a criminal background check. Smarty Pants will only use substitutes that are on file with the MSDE Office of Childcare. Smarty Pants will inform parents of any substitute care prior to date, when time is allowed.
MEET SHANNON MCKENZIE
I am the Owner/Founder of Smarty Pants Preschool. I created SMARTY PANTS 30+ years ago. My vision was to provide exactly what I would look for... and figured there "should" be more people like me... to appreciate it.
I am the mother of three girls, Courtney (31), Lexi (24) and Bailey (20). I live in Ijamsville with my girls and my husband, Dennis.
Early Childhood Education has been my passion for well over 30 years. The early child's brain is developing so fast and their skills are ripe for development. I want every child to leave Smarty Pants with a LOVE for learning! I want them to have a confidence about their abilities and take this love, confidence and desire on to HIGHER education... kindergarten, middle school, high school and EVEN college. We are building EDUCATED children... no matter the level.
